Responsibility and sustainability

VANDAYA's commitment to protect our oceans is deeply rooted in our DNA. As a trained biologist, our co-founder and CEO Amalie Marstrand, has been engaged in marine conservation from a young age. While working in Fiji as a volunteer on a shark conservation project, Amalie experienced the dramatic changes of our oceans and coral reefs firsthand and from then on knew that she would be working with ocean conservation from then on.
VANDAYA has from the beginning thrived to be an ocean friendly jewellery brand focussing on some of the biggest issues our oceans face today. It has been our goal from day one to make sure that we only have a positive impact on our oceans.
Our goal is to be 100% plastic free. By having no plastics in our organisation we ensure that no plastic from our business will end up in our oceans and contribute to plastic pollution.  As a part of our zero plastics policies, we ship all products in 100% compostable shipping mailers.
Our ambition at VANDAYA is to lower our CO2 impact and we strive eventually to having a zero-carbon footprint. We are looking into using only environmentally friendly and recycled materials. We furthermore encourage our customers and business partners to act responsible.
There have been a massive decline in coral populations around the world, over the years and we have made it our mission to help ensure coral reefs for the future. We find most of our inspiration from our oceans, and we would like to give back to our biggest source of inspiration. We donate 10% of our profits to ocean conservation and have teamed up with the organisation metamorfosa.org that works on restoring and conserving the coral reefs in Northern Bali.
